At Giffnock Orthodontic Centre (GOC) we have no waiting lists and all consultations are free of charge. We treat both adults and children as private or NHS patients.
NHS Treatment options
Why do NHS patients come to us?
We have no waiting lists, so patients can be treated as soon as we have approval from the Health Board that your treatment can commence. It is worth noting however that this may take a few months in some cases. The NHS will look at your clinical need for treatment rather than cosmetic reasons. For the vast majority of patients, this means that only severe cases will be considered.
NHS approved treatments
If your treatment is approved by the Health Board you only pay the standard NHS charge for braces regardless of how much the treatment may cost. For more information refer to our fees page which lists the current maximum charges.
We always use the best materials available on the NHS, and if patients wish to have treatments which aren't available - like white braces - we can offer those to you as a private patient.
Private Treatment options
Why consider private treatment?
If you would like to have treatment more quickly then private treatments are your best option.
While we don't have a waiting list, it can often take the NHS a few months to approve any NHS treatment.
If, for any reason, you would like to start treatment immediately then we can see you as a private patient.
We use high quality materials for all treatments some of which may not be funded by the Health Board. So, if you may want to have white braces (and all of our white braces options come with white wires) or Invisalign these treatments are not covered by the NHS but can be offered for private patients.
Full treatment pricing and payment plan options are available on our fees page or can be discussed with your Treatment Coordinator at your appointment. Take a look at the options and contact us to find out more.
